Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene supplies

Our WASH programming:

  • emergency access to safe drinking water through water provision
  • water purifying tablets & water storage tanks
  • install and provide supplies for emergency sanitation facilities
  • distribute hygiene kits
  • support health facilities to ensure clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for patients

Purpose: Keep families and public services supplied with safe water and dignified sanitation.

Emergency WASH response

Conflict routinely severs municipal networks and contaminates sources. In the first hours after an incident we stabilise supply with trucked water, bladder tanks and point‑of‑use treatment, while hygiene teams distribute kits and demonstrate safe use. This reduces the risk of waterborne disease in shelters, schools and clinics before repairs are possible.

  • Provide emergency access to safe drinking water through water provision and storage tanks.
  • Distribute water purification tablets and household water filters.
  • Install and support emergency sanitation facilities and handwashing stations in shelters, schools, and clinics.
  • Distribute hygiene kits and deliver clear hygiene promotion.
  • Support health facilities to ensure clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for patients and staff.

Water system recovery and reconstruction

As the situation allows, we shift from stop‑gap to durable works. Working with vodokanals and community committees, we rehabilitate boreholes and pumps, restore pipework, introduce simple chlorination and routine testing, and winter‑proof exposed assets. The aim is reliable, affordable water that can be operated and maintained locally.

  • Rehabilitate boreholes, wells, and pumps.
  • Repair and upgrade sanitation infrastructure.
  • Improve equitable access to clean water for vulnerable households and critical services.

Impact to date

  • 8,000 vulnerable people supported with hygiene assistance.
