Purpose: Help families stay safe, warm, and dry, and keep collective centres fit for purpose.

Emergency shelter

Displacement and blast damage often leave families without basic protection from the elements. Our emergency kits are tailored to common Ukrainian building types and the season, enabling rapid weather‑proofing of windows, roofs and entrances. For collective centres, we add partitions, lighting and heating to reduce overcrowding and improve dignity and safety.

• Distribute emergency shelter kits and supplies to impacted communities.
• With IOM, deliver NFIs such as blankets, cooking sets, and bedding for IDPs and vulnerable households.
• Explore transitional shelter solutions, including temporary structures that offer improved safety and protection.

Recovery and reconstruction

• Support community‑led repairs in formerly occupied areas through participatory planning and do‑no‑harm checks.
• Implement green recovery options and energy‑efficient designs for community facilities where feasible.

Impact to date

• 14 frontline communities supported with safe and secure shelter solutions.
• 65 families with rehabilitated homes in formerly occupied areas.
• 15 schools and youth centres reopened following light rehabilitation.
