Myanmar Earthquake Emergency Response
Our mission in Myanmar focuses on three areas:
- WASH
- Shelter supplies
- Protection
- Health
- MHPSS

The Crisis:
On 28 March 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar near the city of Mandalay, causing widespread devastation across several regions. The quake, one of the strongest to hit Southeast Asia in more than a century, has left over 1,600 people dead and thousands more injured. Entire villages have been levelled, roads and bridges rendered impassable, and critical infrastructure—hospitals, schools, and water systems—damaged or destroyed. The United Nations and humanitarian agencies have warned of severe shortages of medical supplies, clean water, and food, with hundreds of thousands now in urgent need of assistance. As aftershocks continue and the scale of the destruction becomes clearer, Myanmar faces a humanitarian emergency of immense proportions.
Our Response
In response, the Yashchenko Foundation is woking with local partners to deliver support for some of the most vulnerable communities impacted by the earthquake, mobilising our resources to support communities affected by this disaster.
While YF’s operational footprint has historically centred on Ukraine, we are committed to standing in solidarity with vulnerable populations wherever crisis strikes. Drawing on our expertise in emergency logistics, medical aid delivery, and last-mile support, we will be working with local partners in Myanmar to provide rapid, life-saving relief.
Our initial intervention will focus on the provision of essential supplies to earthquake-impacted areas. This includes the delivery of WASH, Shelter and Health & Food supplies.
As the response evolves, we will continue to adapt our support based on real-time needs assessments from our partners on the ground. Our priority is to reach the most affected and underserved communities, especially in remote rural areas where aid has been slow to arrive. As in Ukraine, we are committed to ensuring that all aid is delivered responsibly, accountably, and with dignity.
