The Yashchenko Foundation’s Civilian Evacuation Program is dedicated to ensuring the safe passage of civilians trapped in conflict zones. As frontlines shift, many civilians find themselves caught in the crossfire, often without any means of escaping independently. Our teams and local partners work tirelessly to identify and reach these individuals, focusing particularly on the most vulnerable, such as the elderly, children, and those with disabilities. By providing transportation and coordination support, we help them evacuate from communities under imminent threat of occupation, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Frontlines can remain stable for months and then move rapidly with very short notice. As our teams are based across the country, we can swiftly deploy evacuation support in response to real-time events. Our teams can reach any frontline within two hours from our bases in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv. We have also developed strong relationships with the Oblast administrations in Khersonska, Zaporizhska, Kharkivska, Chernihivska, and Sumska Oblasts, enabling us to coordinate with local authorities to provide effective evacuations for civilians.
In addition to proactive evacuations, our team is on the ground immediately following the liberation of an area, ready to assist those who need to escape lingering dangers. We coordinate with local authorities and other humanitarian organisations to facilitate swift and safe evacuations, offering a lifeline to those who have endured the hardships of occupation. Our commitment is to provide these individuals with the support they need to reach safety, rebuild their lives, and find hope amidst the turmoil.
We also assist evacuees in finding quality accommodation for internally displaced persons (IDPs) through our network of partners. By ensuring that those we evacuate have access to safe and suitable housing, we help them transition to a more stable and secure environment as they begin to rebuild their lives.
